Missy: A Dog’s Tale

Co-authored with my mom, Barbara Cleary! This children’s book has been 13 years in the making. I first wrote this manuscript in graduate school and then turned my attention to self-help writing. My mom — a retired preschool and elementary school teacher of 21+ years — encouraged me to bring this story to life, and she helped rewrite and edit it.

The book features Missy, who is an adorable pup with curls all over her body — but not on her tail. Join Missy on her journey to find self-acceptance as she learns to love her unique features! This heartwarming story of diversity and self-love will have you hooked from the first page. Can Missy embrace what makes her special? Find out what happens in Missy: A Dog’s Tale.

How to Survive a Breakup
When all of your friends are birthing their second child

At 31 years old, I experienced a tumultuous breakup, two unexpected moves, and a mass layoff all in three months. I bypass the “get-happy-now” approach to share my awkward, messy meltdown from the perspective of a never-married female and everyone’s go-to bridesmaid. My portrayal of getting over the toxic milestone mentality at my age will help you get over your breakup — and then over yourself.
